27 Balloons

This painting removed 27 balloons from the ocean. Balloons are a hard material to work. They beak down in my hands into microplastics, they resist flattening, they wrinkle and shred. But, they are a huge source of ocean pollution and responsible for a growing number of wildlife deaths. Balloons are ubiquitous with celebrations and I want to challenge us all to celebrate with more earth friendly decorations
