These knots were all collected on the beach. Knot cuts are the result of sections of fishing rope that are regularly cut away for ease and then tossed into the ocean instead of being disposed of properly. thousands of these knots litter the beach.
The knots, once cleaned and trimmed, are quite beautiful. They are mounted on screws, raised above the plastered surface. The plaster is left over from construction jobs.

Creation Process
Jackie’s primary medium is marine debris that she cleans off Massachusetts beaches. The beach trash and marine debris that she works with includes fishing rope, balloons, bottle caps, buoys, plastic packaging, lobster traps, and much more.
